The series will cover a range of topics, including:
- Sustainable Fashion Industry and Market Research (Wednesday, 4-5 pm): Learn how to research sustainable fashion and related industries, market insights, and consumer trends. Discover the current industry performance of fashion designers within the U.S. and consumer insights report on sustainable shopping behavior.
- Importance of Intellectual Property Rights in the World of Fashion (Thursday, 12-1 pm): Join Liz Jackson, acting director of the Northeast Regional Outreach Office of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, to explore trademarks, patents, and copyrights in relation to the fashion industry.
- Branding 101 (Thursday, 6-7 pm): Discover how brands are more than just their logos. This introductory class covers the fundamentals of branding, including how to clearly define a company's mission to consumers, identify the target audience, and develop a consistent brand voice.
- The Luxury Fashion Consumer (Friday, 1-2 pm): Research the luxury fashion sector, marketing insights, and consumer trends using various databases. Explore a 2025 report on the U.S. luxury consumer, consumer insights on luxury goods, and brand KPIs for luxury fashion.
- Introduction to Intellectual Property and Fashion (Friday, 3-4 pm): Learn about protecting business assets and ideas. The NYPL's Thomas Yoseloff Business Center, which also functions as a Patent and Trademark Resource Center, offers an intro class on IP, learning about the four different types of IP.
